Tim Meyer, MFA, M.Photog.Cr., is an internationally-recognized and respected photographer, mentor, speaker, and author with more than 37 years of experience. He also taught at the Brooks Institute. His innovative style has led to his success with Meyer Photography, the portrait and wedding studio he runs with his partner in business and life, Dea Meyer. His book, “The Portrait - Understanding Portrait Photography”, is a comprehensive study of portraiture.

Part I - Morning Session

Tim will take you on a whirlwind tour of the iconic, historical images that have shaped modern portraiture, and will focus on the creative elements of portrait lighting and posing. He will explore the origins of today's styles and a potential vision of the future of our constantly changing industry, not only for portrait artists, but lifestyle, fashion, and editorial work.

Part II – Afternoon Session

Tim will walk you through a “virtual hands-on class” designed as a follow-up to the “Real Rembrandt” program giving during the guild meeting.

Tim will be demonstrating and discussing the following in-studio techniques:

  • The real Rembrandt lighting
  • Portrait philosophy
  • Creative techniques in emulating Rembrandt’s lighting and portraiture
  • Post-production techniques used in the style
