by Barbara MacFerrin
How is it that some images are exquisite harmonies of textures, colors, mood, and expressions beyond most of our imaginations? And how could we learn to be such masters of artistry? Wonder no more!
Join us in June for our monthly guild meeting, and workshop the following day with portrait artist Barbara MacFerrin; “Painterly Portraits - A Modern Take on the Old Masters”.
Barbara is an award winning fine art portrait photographer and PPA Master Photographer based in Colorado with over 25 years of photography experience and has earned the title of Accredited Master Level Photographer of The Portrait Masters organization. Her work is inspired by old master paintings, aiming to capture a soulful intensity in her subjects.
In this workshop, Barbara will teach how she uses one and two studio lighting setups to achieve the optimal lighting to create painterly portraits. She will also discuss various editing techniques using Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop as well as the use of digital textures to enhance the images.
