March Meeting

The Art of Authenticity: Creating a Style That’s Truly Yours

with Rich Cirminello

In a world where trends come and go, the photographers who thrive are the ones with a recognizable, authentic style. But how do youdevelop a signature style that feels true to you—without getting stuck in a box?

In this session, we’ll dive into the key elements of style development, from refining your creative vision to making intentional artistic choices that set your work apart. You’ll learn how to balance inspiration with originality, avoid common pitfalls, and create images that not only stand out but also resonate deeply with your audience. Whether you’re refining your aesthetic or still searching for your unique voice, this talk will give you actionable steps to craft a style that is both unmistakable and entirely yours.

Rich Cirminello, CPP, is an accomplished photographer, educator, and lighting expert with over 20 years of experience in fashion, boudoir, and commercial photography.

Know for his masterful lighting, attention to detail, and commitment to authenticity, his work has been featured in major magazines, advertising campaigns, and luxury branding projects.

Rich holds a Master of Music Technology from NYU, where he also taught as an adjunct professor for six years. Before transitioning into photography full-time, he spent 15 years in Silicon Valley, working with Yahoo!, Google, and Skybox Imaging, a startup that disrupted the  satellite imagery industry.

His career has taken him across the world—his fine-art nudes have been exhibited in galleries in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and he has photographed major fashion weeks in New York, Paris, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Hong Kong. He also served as Editor-in-Chief of VOLO Magazine, curating fine-art nude photography.

With a teaching style that blends technical precision with real-world application, Rich helps photographers elevate their craft, refine their artistic voice, and create images that resonate with authenticity and impact.
